A Berki sétaút a hévízi kifolyó mentén valósul meg mintegy 2.5 km hosszan.

Elsődleges célja a bemutatás. A területen található élőlények, élőhelyek, természeti értékek, kultúrtörténet bemutatása. További céljaink a Hévízi-tavon és környékén az ember által végzett pusztító tevékenységre való felhívás, annak érdekében, hogy a jövő nemzedéke már ne követhesse el azon hibákat, amelyeket az elődei elkövettek.

            Ezért kap fő hangsúlyt a sétaút mentén az ismeretátadás. Kiemelt célcsoportunk az ifjúság. Meggyőződésünk, hogy ha sikerül megszólítanunk a fiatal nemzedékeket egészen az óvódás kortól a középiskolásokig, akkor nagy sikerrel juthatunk el az idősebb generáció képviselőihez is. A sétaút vége a már elnyert európai uniós forrásból megépülő Békavár bemutató központnál lenne, így az oda látogatók is használnák a sétautat.

Fő tevékenységünk az ismeretek átadása a látogatóknak egy vezetőfüzet segítségével. A vezetőfüzethez a sétaút elején felépülő esőbeállóban juthatnak hozzá az érdeklődők. A sétaút mentén 4 információs táblát is elhelyezünk egy az általános ismertetés, egy a tőzegláp bemutatásának, egy az élővilág és egy a kultúrtörténet bemutatásának témájában. Egy madármegfigyelő magaslest is építünk, ahonnan a környék egyedülálló madárvilágát figyelhetik meg a látogatók.

The so called ‘Berki sétaút’ (Grove Promenade) – a 2.5 km long nature trail - would be located at the outlet drain of the Hévíz thermal lake, an area with a unique flora and fauna.We made it pour priority to get visitors acquainted with the wildlife, natural treasures and at the same time the cultural history of the place. Our further aim is to raise the awareness of the public and make people realize what damage human activities have already caused to the surroundings and the Hévíz Lake itself; and also to prevent the oncoming generations from making the same regrettable mistakes their ancestors are to be blamed for.This is why our primary aim is to make the young generation feel involved. We strongly believe that if we can get across to the young ones ranging from kindergarten kids to the secondary school, we will succeed in getting to the older generations as well. The trail is planned to terminate at the so called Békavár demonstration centre (Frogs’ Castle) (a work-in-progress project financed by EU funds) letting visitors use both facilities.Our plan is to supply visitors with a leaflet, available in the rain shelter at the beginning of the trail and also place four information boards: the first one would give general information, the second one would be about the peat moor, the third one about the wildlife, while the fourth one would make the visitors acquainted with the cultural history of the region. We also plan to have a high-stand built to let visitors do some birds-watching and explore this unique bird sanctuary.

A sétaút a Norvég Civil Alap támogatásával az Ökotárs Alapítvány közreműködésével a Hévízért Városvédő, -Feljesztő, Kulturális Egyesület és a Keszthelyi Környezetvédő Egyesület által jött létre.

The promenade was created  by the Pro Hévíz Town protection and  Development Cultural Association  and the Keszthely Environmental Protection Association  -  with the help of the Norwegian Civil Society  and the  contribution of the Ökotárs Foundation
